The World Environment Day

The World Environment Day  is celebrated by the United Nations (UN) member countries to raise public awareness environmental issues annually, on June 5th every year since 1972. World Environment Day was celebrated by by TUBISAD Compliance Scheme (TYK) for over two months by putting together  various activities at environmental festivals held in cooperation with contracted Municipalities., Thus, everyone spent World Environment Day in a festive mood.

Within the framework of the “Students Collect WEEE!” campaign that ended in May, awards were delivered to schools with ceremonies. TYK set up booths in the festivals in order to inform visitors about recycling and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). TYK's environmental awareness mission was expressed. Also, various promotional gifts were distributed.

Within the context of festivals, The Rhythm Workshop activity which was held last year at Environment Festival of Municipalility of Kadıköy took place once again. TYK's talented rhythm master Hakan Gürbüz met for the second time with visitors. Hakan Gürbüz's entertaining presentation and talented music show made the rhythm work with instruments created with the combination of e-waste. There was an increase in interest and participation in environmental festivals. TYK added a new one to its awareness-raising activities to create a conscious society for sustainable tomorrows. 200 people participated in the E-waste Mosaic Workshop at Kadıköy Environment Festival. All participants of the event designed coasters from e-waste. Visitors enjoyed their time at festival, besides that environmental awareness spred along the visitors during this festive atmosphere.
